No Bookmarks at all
1. Ensure you have enabled syncing in Chrome - it's not enabled by default! In Chrome, open the options, Personal Stuff and ensure it states that you are "Signed in as...." If you have just enabled sync in Chrome, wait a few minutes for your browser to send them details to Google before you try and sync in CMarks.
2. In Chrome, ensure that you have enabled syncing of Bookmarks. Open the options, Personal Stuff and click "Advanced" in the section section near the top. In the popup that appears, ensure the drop-down box says "sync everything". If it says "choose what to sync" then ensure "bookmarks" is ticked beneath it. If you have just changed one of these, click OK and wait a few minutes before trying to sync with CMarks again.
3. Are you using a hosted / Google apps / GAFYD email address to sync your Chrome bookmarks? If you are, Google did not transition the Chrome data when they transitioned all accounts a while ago. Please see this document for more details including a suggested solution.
4. Otherwise, please read this link as there is a good chance you have been hit by a common Chrome bug that has not been syncing your bookmarks.
